Let the convention season begin
5/16/08 -
This is a busy weekend for comic
book conventions luckily they
are on opposite sides of the
country. On the west coast
(initiate big announcer voice)
SUPER-CON is taking over the San
Jose convention center.
Saturday May 17 from 10-6
Sunday May 18 from 10-5

One of my favorite characters
from ABC’s LOST, Hurley, is going
to be there. Flash from the 90’s
era TV show and the kid from ET,
although he’s not a kid anymore
and I’m pretty sure someone
stole his flying bike. Since it
is a comic book show there are
some big name artists there as
well, Adam Hughes, Frank Cho,
Greg Horn, Joe Jusko and tons of
others.

information here

Detroit is hosting the Motor City
Comic Convention on the same
weekend.
Friday May 16th 12:30-7
Saturday May 17 from 10:30-6
Sunday May 18 from 10:30-5
The comic book king of zombies will
be the featured guest, Authur Suydam.
The list of comic book artists and
creators includes Chris Claremont,
David Finch, William Messner-Loebs,
Bernie Wrightson and my personal
favorite Christopher Jones. I
interviewed him a few years ago and
he’s a fantastic artist and all
around nice guy.
Micky Dolenz and the funk-a-delic
Monkees ride will be there. Lando
Calrissian or Harvey Dent from the
1989 Batman Movie will be signing
some Star Wars stuff. Also attending
will be Twiki that little robot from
Buck Rogers. I honestly didn’t know
if he was a robot or if there was
someone inside that metal shell. The
list goes on and on.
